BVZS Autumn Meeting 2016

Dates: Friday, 23rd September 2016 - Sunday, 25th September 2016


Registration is now closed for the BVZS Autumn meeting 2016.

The main conference, accommodation, Saturday evening dinner (menu is here) and pub quiz will be held at the magnificent and historic Pembroke College, Oxford University, on Saturday 24th – Sunday 25th September, with easy access to the city for accompanying guests. There will also be an optional guided zoo tour of Cotswold Wildlife Park or Crocodiles of the World on Friday 23rd September, CWP tour is full, there are still places at COTW as of 15.09.16, all those already requesting places have been contacted.

Conference programme: We are very pleased to announce the invited speakers for the conference will be Richard Griffiths (Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology, University of Kent, and President of the British Herpetological Society), Greg Glendell (Parrot Behaviourist) and Ben Tapley (Curator of Herpetology, Zoological Society of London). Travel and Parking information
Parking in Oxford is limited and therefore we would strongly advise to use public transport.  Please click here for information on travel to Oxford.

A few parking spots are available in Pembroke (limited to sponsors and blue badge holders). These must be booked in advance. Please contact Victoria Roberts if you are a sponsor or a blue badge holder and wish to see if you may have one of these spaces.

By Train

By Car (Park & Ride)
Oxford has several Park & Ride services.  Parking at Redbridge Park & Ride will cost £10 for the whole weekend, and a return ticket to the centre of town will cost £2.80. The nearest stop to Pembroke when taking the 300 from Redbridge Park & Ride is on St Aldates, opposite the Police Station:

Instructions for speakers and poster presenters
The deadline for talk and poster title submissions was Friday 15th July. Abstracts and biographies for accepted talks and posters were due in via email to Stephanie Jayson by 12th August. Please use the following abstract template and biography template to write your abstract and biography. These are already in the format required for the Proceedings. Please also check that your abstract and biography follow the guidelines for meetings abstracts before submission.
