The PROGRAMME is here.
Due to the huge success of the second 3-day meeting at Conference Aston, Birmingham in 2018, with over 220 delegates attending, the British Veterinary Zoological Society will be holding its third annual 3-day conference in November 2019. We received great feedback about holding the conference at a dedicated conference centre and delegates preferred the separate lecture streams, so in 2019 we will be continuing with this plan. Separate lecture streams will be offered, with Friday being a full day of zoo health and wildlife/exotic pet nursing. Saturday will be half a day of zoo health and half a day of exotic pet health, and the second stream will be a full day of wildlife presentations. Sunday will be a full day of exotic pet health presentations, and the second stream will be aimed at students and recent graduates with presentations on dealing with common cases seen in exotics in general practice and also a session by Carolyne Crowe on not only coping, but thriving, with the first few years in practice.
Talk and poster submissions are welcome on all aspects of nursing, exotic pet, wildlife and zoo animal health. Please submit abstracts along with the title. The deadline for all speakers/poster submissions was Sunday 30th June 2019.
We look forward to welcoming you at the conference which will include:
· Separate lecture streams over the three-day conference.
Presentations by guest speakers for all streams. Those already confirmed include:
- Invertebrate presentation by guest speaker Steven Trim, director of Venomtech Ltd.
- Carolyne Crowe from VDS Training to provide an interactive session and discuss important topics such as leadership development, conflict, communication and developing confidence and an assertive approach.
- Presentation on pet poultry by Victoria Roberts.
- Presentation on amphibians by Mark Naguib.
